Lexi received her Bachelor of Music Degree in Flute Performance from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire where she studied with Timothy Lane.  She was also a member of the piano studio under the direction of Nicholas Phillips for two years and studied voice privately with Mitra Sadeghpour for one year. While studying at UWEC she was a member of the University Symphony Orchestra, Wind Symphony, New Music Ensemble, Chamber Orchestra, Chamber Wind Ensemble and the women’s musical fraternity Sigma Alpha Iota.  As a freshman, Alexandria was chosen as the winner of the 2008 University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire Wind Symphony Concerto Competition and the winner of the 2010 UWEC Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition.  In the summer of 2008, she performed in a master class held at the University of West Virginia-Morganstown with Trevor Wye.  She also studied with William Bennett at the 2010 and 2011 International Flute Summer School in Chicago, Illinois.

Lexi is a May 2013 graduate of the University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities, earning her Master’s degree in flute performance.  At the University she studied with Immanuel Davis and was a member of the University Symphony Orchestra, the University Wind Ensemble and the Mill City Woodwind Quintet.  Lexi also studied voice at the University in the studio of Wendy Zaro-Mullins.  In 2012 Lexi studied with Marie-Andree Benny at the Domaine Forget Academy in Quebec.  In April of 2013 she performed in a master class with Denis Bouriakov through the Upper Midwest Flute Association.

Lexi found her true passion as a piano and voice teacher for the Minnetonka Music Academy and Schmitt Music-Edina. Lexi enjoys helping young (and old!) students find their beginnings in music.  Her first and foremost duty is to make sure the students enjoy learning the basics of the instrument.  Once a student becomes more advanced, Lexi’s goal is help students learn how to practice effectively to maximize their practice time and potential.  Lexi also has experience teaching individuals who have special needs, including learning disorders, behavioral issues, physical or intellectual disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), ADD/ADHD, and more. Lexi provides flexibility and compassion during sessions that includes creativity, adaptability, and patience. Lessons are tailored to each student's individual needs.

Lexi now lives in Eau Claire, WI with her husband Pete and her son Brooks and teaches out of a studio at the Historic Banbury Place studios.
